541 Samseong-ro, Gangnam-gu, Seoul. The building where Seogwanmyeonog Samseong Branch now stands was once used as an Audi service center. The wide, high space where cars were serviced is now a space for Pyeongyang Naengmyeon and a full table. Rather than erasing the structure and the traces the building carries, we kept what was good in them, and the result is the branch with the roomiest feeling of the four.

A Wide Space with High Ceilings

Having been a space for servicing cars, Samseong Branch is marked by high ceilings and a large floor area.

It uses the first and second floors together, with a wide hall and private rooms, so it can hold everything from one person eating a bowl of naengmyeon to a family gathering, a business meal or a large company dinner. The structure of the existing building became the ground for the unhurried space that belongs to Samseong Branch.

From a Bowl of Naengmyeon to a Full Table

At Samseong Branch too, the center of Seogwanmyeonog is of course the naengmyeon, made from 100% Jeju buckwheat milled and cut the same day.

With room to spare, though, it also suits a meal in the manner of Seonju Humyeon (a drink first, then noodles), where dishes such as Hanwoo (Korean beef) Suyuk, Hanwoo Yukhoe, Dotjeyuk and Eobokjaengban are shared and naengmyeon closes the meal. From October 2026, Seogwan Myeonsang, which ran only at Gyodae Main Branch and Hongdae Branch, extends to all branches including Samseong, so a table of seasonal regional ingredients can be met at Samseong Branch as well.

Private Rooms for Gatherings and Meals

Another mark of Samseong Branch is its private rooms.

A number of people can eat together in one place, which suits family gatherings and company dinners as well as business meals that need a quiet conversation. More than a place to eat naengmyeon quickly and leave, it is the branch where you can take your time with the full table culture of Seogwanmyeonog, sharing drinks and dishes slowly and closing the meal with naengmyeon.

Joining New Time to an Old Space

A space where cars were serviced becoming a naengmyeon house is a fairly large change.

But in keeping what was good about the existing space and adding a new use to it, it resembles the way we look at food. Rather than copying the old as it was, finding what is good within it and carrying that forward in today's terms. The way a building that was an Audi service center became Seogwanmyeonog Samseong Branch holds that kind of time too.
